A book full of intriguing stories of harrowing moments in people's lives (knitting needles through the heart, last at sea, etc.) and how those involved survived (and what they feel are the most important traits for survival).
This was a good book, but the stories were mostly the same. A lot of what the author wrote was familiar to me because my daughter has worked as a Hospice nurse and had told me similiar stories. It is reassuring to know that we can die in peace knowing where we are going when we leave this earth. A friend of mine had wanted me to read it because it was comforting to her after her son died in a tragic car accident. It is a quick easy book to read.
Hmmm...didn't grab me, so I returned it to the library after the first ten chapters. Didn't seem to be going anywhere.
I have kids ask for "creature" books every week. This would be a good one to hand to them. It has some creepy pictures (which I think is what they are mostly after) and a bit of history. Certainly not a thorough study, but plenty for elementary kids.
This book is what I love about listening to the book on CD's. I did not waste my time reading this book.
I absolutely adored this book. I wish it wasn't being Spielberg-ized (in 3D, no less ::groan::), since the black-and-white visuals are so integral to the story.
Didn't get all the way through it due to a new semester starting, but I was enjoying it.
I think that this book was my favorite of the series so far. I love Hanna and it just felt like it was more about her than anyone else. Maybe that's just how I saw it but I really liked this one and couldn't put it down!
I enjoyed this book, quite a lot. I did have some major problems with it though. One of them was there were so many characters I often forgot who was going through what problem. I also found that many of the main characters were one dimensional. Still a fun read though and I was happy to add a few more books to my reading list after reading the summaries of the books read in "the reading group".
this book was boring because i never really liked it when i was small.
